Now Open: Solara House on the Shores of Lake Merritt

Our Vision

Welcome to Solara House at the Lake Merritt Lodge in Oakland.
A Restorative Pathways’ flagship recovery campus, bringing together behavioral health treatment and trauma-informed care under one roof.
Here, individuals experiencing homelessness as a result of trauma, interpersonal violence, or substance use challenges will find a safe and dignified place to heal. This shelter is where our mission becomes real, providing pathways to recovery, safety, and long-term stability.

Why It’s Needed

A System Struggling to Meet the Need

Homelessness in California is rising, not just because of housing costs, but because of the crises no one sees: domestic violence, untreated trauma, mental illness, human trafficking, and substance use. People are left trying to survive while navigating disconnected systems that were never built to work together.

Solara House is different. It brings shelter, recovery, and wraparound support together under one roof—so healing doesn’t require starting over at every step.

What We’ve Built

Solara House is a layered care campus where shelter and comprehensive services exist under one roof — eliminating the need for people in crisis to move from program to program in search of help.

 On-Site Housing & Safety

  • 92 rooms / 120 beds, including dedicated shelter space for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking
  • Immediate access to safe housing as the first step in stabilization

Integrated Trauma-Informed Services

  • On-site trauma recovery center with medical, behavioral health, and therapeutic care
  • Specialized support for survivors of interpersonal violence, including domestic violence, trafficking, and sexual assault

Wraparound Support

  • Case management, counseling, housing navigation, meals, life-skills coaching, and community reintegration services
  • All services coordinated by one team, in one location

Coming Spring 2026 — Full Continuum of Treatment on the Same Campus

  • Detox & Residential Treatment – Safe medical and emotional support during early recovery
  • PHP & IOP Programs – Structured day treatment and step-down care for long-term stability
