River Village is the residential campus of Restorative Pathways’ Restorative Action for Family Transformation (RAFT) program. This 22-bed residential facility was created to address one of the most difficult and often overlooked gaps in violence prevention: supporting individuals who have caused harm in breaking the cycles that lead to violence in the first place.

River Village serves men who have engaged in harmful or destructive behavior in their relationships, as well as individuals returning to the community after incarceration who are seeking a structured environment to stabilize and rebuild their lives. The program provides safe, supportive housing alongside intensive programming designed to help participants confront their past, take accountability for their actions, and develop the tools necessary to live differently.

Residents participate in specialized group programming and curriculum that explores personal history, trauma, patterns of behavior, and the real impact violence has on families and communities. Through this work, participants begin the challenging process of understanding how cycles of harm are formed—and how they can be broken.

In addition to group work, residents receive case management, individual counseling, and restorative justice practices that focus on accountability, emotional regulation, relationship skills, and long-term behavioral change. The goal is not simply short-term intervention, but lasting transformation that helps individuals build healthier identities, stronger relationships, and safer futures for themselves and those around them.

River Village represents a bold and necessary step forward in violence prevention. While many systems focus solely on responding after harm occurs, the RAFT model recognizes that true prevention must also address the behaviors, trauma, and patterns that drive harm in the first place.

As the first residential program of its kind in the nation, River Village reflects Restorative Pathways’ commitment to addressing violence at its source, creating space for accountability, healing, and transformation so that cycles of harm can finally be broken.
